Privacy Policy

Code Trains ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Check Chunk mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several different types of information to provide and improve our service to you:

Account Details: Email address, Full Name, Gender, Date of Birth, and Phone Number (when registering as a "Hero" via Firebase Authentication).
Profile Image: Used to customize your profile within the App.
Anonymous Guest IDs: Generated randomly for "Guest Scouts" to allow access without registration.

2. Camera and Gallery Usage (Receipt Scanning)

The App requests access to your camera and gallery exclusively to capture and scan receipt images for OCR (Optical Character Recognition) item extraction. These images are processed securely to extract line items and split amounts. We do not sell or share receipt images with third parties.

3. Biometric Data (Local Authentication)

The App supports FaceID and Fingerprint authentication for locking your local app sanctuary. All biometric data is stored locally on your device's secure hardware enclave. The App never accesses, stores, or transmits your biometric data to our servers.

Note on Biometric Safety: Because biometric verification happens locally via system-level APIs, your fingerprint or facial scans are never sent over the internet or accessed by Code Trains.

4. Advertising & Analytics (Google AdMob)

We use third-party service providers to monetize and analyze the App. Specifically, Google AdMob collects unique device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA) to deliver personalized or non-personalized advertisements, run bidding auctions, and measure ad performance.

You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's Android settings (Google Settings > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization).

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We respect your privacy. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We only disclose data in the following cases:

Squad Members: When you join a table, your name and profile image are visible to other members of your squad to ensure accurate split claiming.
Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies (like Firebase and Google Analytics) to facilitate App hosting and authentication. These parties only have access to your data to perform tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose it.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

6. Your Data Rights & Deletion (Google Play Mandated)

Under global data regulations, you have the right to access, edit, or delete your personal information.

Account Deletion: You can request the complete deletion of your account and all associated transaction histories directly by contacting our support team at checkchunk@codetrains.com. We will delete all personal database records within 30 days of the request.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
